We are an insurance carrier, how can we integrate ERGOhealthy Analytics in our Underwriting, Loss Control, and Policyholder Services departments?

Most insurance carriers today use post injury data (claims history / trailing data) for creating specific and targeted ergonomic and safety-related interventions.  Although predictive modeling is being used in both auto and health care (Aetna and UnitedHealth use leading indicators to predict and prevent “expensive patients”), with ERGOhealthy Analytics in place, an insurance carrier has the ability to review “leading” indicators of data – providing the opportunity for intervention long before claims are developed.

Why would an insurance carrier offer ERGOhealthy Analytics to their policyholders?

Recognizing that ERGOhealthy Analytics can serve as a value-added differentiator, it also operates as an excellent data mining tool for predictive analytics for occupational musculoskeletal injuries.

We’re very pleased with the reduction of discomfort and number of musculoskeletal injuries being reported, but are there any other benefits to using ERGOhealthy Analytics?

In studies to date, and in addition to the dramatic reductions in discomfort and injuries, data compiled after 90 days demonstrated at least a 5% gain in productivity.  A nationwide company, found that what was most critical to them were the gains in productivity – being able to have “fewer people to do the job is very appealing,” and “improving productivity is critical.”  Based on survey data, productivity losses accounted for approximately $6,000 per year per affected employee.  The total affected employee totaled 2,000 (about 20% of the total workforce of 10,000).  This is a $12M productivity loss annually.
